How to Work Well In a Master Mind Trading Group
Whether you're new to trading, working on improving your trading or you are an experience trader, joining a Master Mind Trading group requires teamwork. It's important to know how to work well with others. It's not always easy to work in groups but the rewards can be worth it. The key to working well in your Master Mind Trading (MMT) group is to have great communication among everyone involved. As a MMT member, communication is critically important. If you have a problem with other team members, talk to them directly. If you can't talk and listen to other team members you might as well be working individually. Communicating effectively can also make your team, as a whole, work better and accomplish your given trading goals quicker. Here are some other ideas to help you work well with your Master Mind Trading group members: 1. First focus on the purpose of your MMT group; is it to keep each other accountable to your trading goals? Is it to discover and share new trading strategies? Is it to trade together as a team and learn from the results? Is it to enter trading competitions with other MMT teams? Keep focused on the purpose of your MMT meetings. Weekly, allow members a few moments to voice their personal agendas or concerns for their participation in the group. 2. Meet together weekly or bi-monthly as a standing appointment; Set aside an hour a week to meet with you MMT group; either by conference call, video broadcast or meet in person at a designated time and day. Put it on the calendar and never deviate from that schedule. The group will feel more commitment if everyone respects and establishes this meeting as a priority in their trading success. Those who continually miss the meeting have proven they are not serious and should be replaced by a trader who can make the commitment and stick to it. 3. Be accountable to your MMT group meetings; whether in the local Meet Up group or on the Broadcast Conference call. If you must miss a meeting, apologize for missing it, tell your team when they'll have your written participation results, and then make sure you meet that deadline. The rest of the group will respect you more for owning up to your problem rather than blaming someone else. 4. Be supportive of your MMT group members; When discussing ideas for their trading concerns, goals or expectations, be sure to consider other team members' suggestions, even if you don't think they'll work. Considering other ideas shows you're interested in someone else's opinion. 5. Realize the MMT group is a collaborative effort; it doesn't belong to any one person. It's important that each group member can feel ownership of some part of the group. By having ownership they're more likely to put forth the personal effort to make the group successful.? 6. Designate a MMT group leader; if you're the group leader, let the other group members know what's expected of them. Establish clear objectives and how each person will contribute. Be open to making changes if someone else can contribute a certain aspect of trading better than the person who volunteered for it. This is about learning how to be profitable, not how to be popular. 7. Motivate all MMT group members; Work on establishing and maintaining each member's morale and their motivation to succeed in trading. Give them a reason to want to succeed rather than losing focus of their trading goals. 8. Work together on your SMART Trading Plans; The group will feel more ownership of their trading plan if everyone works together to set goals and establish accountability deadlines for the various milestones of each member. 9. Rotate assignments among group members if necessary; Periodically switch roles between the members to keep the group fresh and enthusiastic. Everyone in the group needs to pitch in and contribute or the group is out of balance and is destined to suffer. 10. Find MMT group members with common goals and agendas as you; Search in the LTM Trading Club for others in your area or in your expertise who are seeking to join or form a MM group.
